Regarding comments about backfiring. Had cycle serviced at required 1000km interval,(changed oil myself at 800km-can only be good for engine), and they did all necessary checks including carburetor.Now no backfire whatsoever.Carb. is adjusted to U.S. standards which don't apply in Canada. Good. Probably makes minimal difference anyway. Two complaints about Savage-that would be worth a small increase in price,($300), are better rear shocks and 3.8gal gas tank.-
